Movement on the map

Movement on the Gumba map is carried out in rounds, each round representing a two week timeframe.
The current position of each force is marked on the map by a white X. When do expeditions meet on a field, a battle might follow, but diplomatic actions allowed before each battle, might help avoid any bloodshed.

During one round an expedition might move through 2 free or already owned field. Otherwise it might move through one enemy field. When stepping in a free field, it becomes part of an expedition's lands. In order to take over an enemy field, the expedition must spend one of it's possible actions next round to annex the enemy field it stands on.

Colouring a field symbolises the set up of a local administration. Only coloured fields are part of the colony, neutral or enemy fields that are surrounded by fields of an expedition remain neutral or hostile.

In a round the following movements can take place:

- Move to own field, move to neutral
- move to own field, move to own
- move to neutral field, move to neutral
- move to neutral field, move to own
- move to enemy field, take over enemy field
- move to neutral field, move to enemy field
